REEDNet is the Rural Employer Engagement Development Network. A network of England’s land based colleges led by Harper Adams University College in Shropshire and the Royal Agricultural College in Gloucestershire. Harper and the Royal are the sector’s two leading university colleges with unrivalled reputations for their industrial training, education, research and consultancy in the sector.

REEDNet has government funding through the Higher Education Funding Council for England to support work based training and staff development in the rural economy. REEDNet's task is to stimulate and support the rural economy by a massive expansion of recognised work based qualifications. We are supporting the development of people working in the land-based sector by:

• Working with employers to develop and provide programmes for their training needs
• Working with other colleges and training providers to develop work-based staff development programmes for industry
• We have funding to support development and delivery activity of new work-based programmes for employer and colleges.
• We work with employers, training providers and other colleges and organisations in our network to develop robust and bespoke training programmes.

We have an Award Framework that aims to give employers and students a greater choice by drawing upon the most relevant and appropriate modules for their learning needs. The Framework allows:

• Academic credit to be accumulated from multiple sources.
• Learners and employers to make decisions regarding the content of an award. Through, their work practice, they bring together seemingly disparate elements of learning to a whole award.
• The opportunity for highly personalised, highly relevant learning through inquiry based learning and wrapper modules.

Our team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) work with employers to review training and development needs, and to formulate solutions for delivery by a member of our network, or through your own training department or provider. Our team includes specialists in course design, training needs analysis and delivery.
